A premium web experience for luxury door and cabinet hardware

When it was time to refresh the Baldwin Hardware website, we were inspired to build an experience as polished as their high-end hardware. From directing a glossy new hero moment to providing homeowners and professionals with new ways to find the perfect hardware from Baldwin, Hanson created a modern digital experience for customers with a taste for luxury.

Bringing their vision to life

The Baldwin Hardware website team had two goals for this project. Optimize the user experience, and turn their site design into flexible components that could bring their vision to life.

We used the latest version of Sitefinity to modernize the website’s technical infrastructure.

Based on metrics and other insights, we aligned on a new site structure and identified content needs. Then we assessed available assets to put an asset production plan in place.

Designing reusable CMS modules gave the team an efficient way to create rich but flexible page layouts without the need for ongoing developer support.

500,000 ways of expressing yourself

While reimagining the lock designer experience, one thing was immediately clear — there are a lot of options. To help simplify the experience for homeowners, we crafted a quiz to narrow down the default set of options for each customer. And for designers and professionals looking for complete customization, we created an advanced configuration experience so they can give their customers exactly what they need.

After narrowing down the options, the lock designer presents selected options in a realistic visualizer while the user customizes their combination, selecting from different product types, finishes, and styles. A large preview image lets users see all the beautiful details and a compact set of swatches allows them to explore all the options seamlessly. Upon finding your perfect lock, users can save, share, and email options as well as save to a wish list.
